"Y'all - don't miss it. Don't get so caught up in what your sweet baby is doing or not doing. Don't obsess about this step or the next step or the one after that or what is going to happen twenty years down the line. Because one day you'll look at baby pictures and think about how adorable that baby was and how all you can remember is therapy and you can't even remember what her hair smelled like. So, ENJOY your baby. It doesn't matter when they walk or crawl or talk. It matters that they are here and that you love them and that they know it. Just don't miss it."
Some of you know this already, and some of you don't. My friend Laurie's little boy, Dylan, is having open heart surgery today to correct the AV canal defect he was born with. Please keep a good thought for little Dylan and his family today.

Will do! My best thoughts and wishes are with him today.
I was just catching up on the blog...we have all been sick with the flu...not fun!
The pic of Lilah is very cute! I miss our girls at that age. :)
Hopefully this will give you all an update,as this is the only way I can figure this out!! They had some unexpected news when they first started the surgery this morning. They found a P.A window, yet another cardiac defect. This put them behand as it took several hours to fix this before they started the regular surgery. Because he was on the heart/lung machine a long time,he is having problmes with fluid build up. They have inserted a chest tube that will hopefully help out. He is still considered "critical". Hopefully Laurie and Dave will get some sleep tonight as they are in a hotel across the street from the hospital. Thank you ALL for your prayers and thoughts. I will keep you updated the best I can,in between making play dough cookies and playing with Dora and Cassidy!!
On July 7, 2008 our sixth child, Finnian, was born at home into loving hands. Shortly after he was born, we learned that he has Down syndrome. This is the ongoing story of how our family is being transformed by this little boy.
Hi! I'm Lisa, a 40-something Wonder Mom to six kiddos: Kevin (14), Joey (9), twins, Annabelle and Daisy (6), Lilah (4) and Finnian (3). Oh, and my husband is the multi-talented Michael. He tries to keep me in check, but I just keep on writing.
