"Y'all - don't miss it. Don't get so caught up in what your sweet baby is doing or not doing. Don't obsess about this step or the next step or the one after that or what is going to happen twenty years down the line. Because one day you'll look at baby pictures and think about how adorable that baby was and how all you can remember is therapy and you can't even remember what her hair smelled like. So, ENJOY your baby. It doesn't matter when they walk or crawl or talk. It matters that they are here and that you love them and that they know it. Just don't miss it."
Lisa, I don't know if this might be an encouragement to you.I found this lady's blog today and in this post she talks about her husband having colon cancer in Dec.2003 and him recovering. http://muncksquiver.blogspot.com/2009/02/why-so-many.html
I am sad to hear this news. I can only imagine how I would feel if my wife were told she had cancer. You are right - I would prefer to take many more children with Ds over cancer but God doesn't give us a choice in the matter. The fact of the matter is that we all live in an imperfect world that is filled with hurt, pain and death. And this is why I believe that there is more than this. Fight on!! I read often and consider Finn's family part of ours.
Oh God, Lisa. What the... You're right, you have paid your dues. This is just not fair. I am so sorry that you are having to deal with this. Your family will be in my thoughts.
I just didn`t want to leave without letting you know that I am really sorry. Yes, cancer sucks. A friend of mine just won the battle, but she will never be able to get pregnant. She went through chemo and that stuff, and she won.
You as the family will, as well. Sending you strenghth and prayers from germany,
Lisa, I am heartbroken to read this! I will be praying for you and Michael. We are walking side by side with a dear friend right now in her fight with Caner. Keep fighting! HUGS!
Lisa, your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. I'm so glad to know you have such a strong support system locally-they were amazing when Finn was in the hospital and I'm sure they'll be there for you again.
Hang in there and whatever you need just let me know. Thinking of you lots lately.
I loved your “random thoughts” blog... I love the way you write and I love reading everything you write. You are so incredibly intelligent and talented. You were spot on with this… "And I don't believe that Christians are spared anything - not pain or suffering or sickness or loss or death.” Nobody is spared those things. Nobody. Anyone who believes that is kidding themselves. Heck, I wish it was true but no such luck : )
On July 7, 2008 our sixth child, Finnian, was born at home into loving hands. Shortly after he was born, we learned that he has Down syndrome. This is the ongoing story of how our family is being transformed by this little boy.
Hi! I'm Lisa, a 40-something Wonder Mom to six kiddos: Kevin (14), Joey (9), twins, Annabelle and Daisy (6), Lilah (4) and Finnian (3). Oh, and my husband is the multi-talented Michael. He tries to keep me in check, but I just keep on writing.

I have no words, Lisa. {hugs}
Wha- Really? I haven't read this anywhere yet...have you shared more or is this the first blurb you've put out there? I'm going to do some digging.
In the meantime, I WILL be praying--it's what I know, it's what I believe and it's the best I have to offer.
BIG *hugs*!
Oh Lisa, I don't know how you were even able to type THE word. ((((hugs))) and tears ```
Oh. Oh oh oh oh. Lisa. I don't even know what to say. Other than, it's just not fair. And what you said. Fuck cancer.
