It's official

Every one of my babies has rolled off our bed now. Yep, even Finn, as of today :( It's probably not necessary to set the scene: I set him down, I walked away for just a minute, I really didn't think he'd go anywhere (what was I thinking??). Next thing I know, I hear a thunk . . . and it really didn't register. Then I heard him crying - not screaming, mind you, but crying. So I went to check on him and found him face down on the floor next to my bed. Suddenly the thunk I had heard registered. Really, he was okay, none the worse for wear, I think. Still, whose idea was it to trust me with these kids anyway?

Been there...don't that. Totally understand! Glad he's ok and so glad these babies are equipped with amazing sturdy little bodies and heads :)!!!

Awww - I bet it was the "suprise" of finding himself on the floor as much as anything.

Um, Lisa, that happened to Kailey twice. I know, Mother of the Year, right?! And you always feel brilliant that it didn't even occur to you until you hear that "thump."

They make kids bouncy/bendy for a good reason.

It's traditional isn't it? A developmental milestone to fall off a bed or couch? Hmmm.. Congrats to Finn!

All of mine have fallen off the bed as well, and we have all hardwood floors. It must be a mandatory thing for all kids, because you would think we would learn our lesson after the first. :)

Those things happen to all of us. I set Gabe (then 3 months) in his carseat and when I picked it up he tipped out of it onto his head. It makes you feel like such a winner...

Been there, done that. I'm still waiting for that milestone with Jasper. When it happened with Claire I was on the bed with her! I had just finished nursing and was snapping up my bra when I thought "hhhmmm, what's that bit of pink floating off the side of the bed..." Thump. Obviously, she survived.

Sydney has taken a few dives off of the couch. Sigh! I read this and thought of a friend of mine who's family had a superstition that if a child did not fall off of the bed at least once before he/she turned a year old, something bad would happen. Her first child did this on his own, but her second child didn't. so, on the eve of her daughter's first birthday, she put a few pillows on the floor and rolled her daughter off of the bed.
