You've Come a Long Way, Baby

I put Finn down on a blanket on the living room floor this afternoon and a few minutes later, look where he was:

See that blanket in the background? That's where he started out. He rolled all the way across the room! I mean, he's been rolling, but this is the farthest he's traveled in a stretch.

Here, let me show you from a different angle. Do you see him waaaaayyyyy over there?

By the way, that quilt was made for Finn by a woman and her daughter who has Down syndrome. A friend of theirs heard through the Pregnancy.org grapevine about Finn when he was born and we received his diagnosis, and she got in touch with me and asked if she could send one of these quilts for Finn as a gift. It's a beautiful quilt and we use it all the time. I wish the mom and her daughter had a website, but I've never been able to find one. The quilt came with a card attached with a lovely message:

This "Masterpiece Quilt" was created in honor and in celebration of the birth of your special baby. You will notice that this quilt has one section that is slightly different than the rest of the quilt. This is done intentionally. However, the pattern doesn't affect the warmth and comfort this quilt will bring. It is a quilt first and foremost even with its unique design.

Your baby likewise will bring you comfort, warmth, and joy. Though you may not understand all that is happening now, know there is a Comforter who is willing to carry you through the days ahead. Besides this, always remember that your baby is first a baby even if all the "squares" aren't symmetrical. May God bless you daily as you enjoy this new life He has given you!

And it's signed by the mom and daughter who created it, Brenda and Emily Ford.

I am not surprised at all about his rolling, Lisa. I am sure he is having all sorts of fun, running around with the rest of the bunch. Go Finn!

Love the quilt and especially the sentiment.
