Check him out!

I don't want to deceive anyone. Finn can't (or won't) yet pull up to standing on his own, but he can and will hold his own weight when placed in a standing position (provided he has something to hold onto). Progress! Personally, I think he's doing fabulously!

In PT these days, we are mostly focusing on getting him walking. Eun places weights on his ankles to build strength and stamina and then she walks him several laps around the living room and dining room.

Truth be told, he's usually crying within a few minutes. I think part of it is that he doesn't like to be manhandled and bossed around - he'd rather do what he wants to do (and who can blame him?), and part of it is that it IS quite a workout for him. No pain, no gain, right?

Eun, who has been his PT since he was just a few weeks old, is predicting that he'll walk on his own by 16 - 18 months. That sounds very optimistic and hopeful to me. I'm just trying to go with the flow and see what happens.

What else Finn is up to:

~ He now transitions easily from sitting to crawling and from crawling to sitting.
~ He pulls up to kneeling.
~ He gives kisses. Okay, they are sloppy, open-mouthed maneuvers involving lots of slobber, but I think they're the sweetest things anyway :)
~ He knows his way around the house and favors the playroom or wherever his brothers and sisters happen to be.
~ He's no longer biting me while nursing! We're happily back on track there.
~ He says "mama", "dada", and "baba". He's been saying "mama" for months, but I think it's fairly recently that he's begun associating it with me. I'm not sure about "dada" and "baba". He doesn't take a bottle, so I don't know what "baba" means to him. But, it's still something that he has mastered those consonants.

Yay Finn! He is getting so strong! I remember it seemed like forever before Goldie would bear weight on her legs. I'm glad Eun is so positive, our PT wasn't but Goldie was walking at 19 months. If you had told me that when she turned one I would have never believed it!

Glad bf is going better!

Kuddos, Finn! The video is great as it conveys the happy noisy atmosphere in the house. Cheers to you, Lisa, and all yours!

Yay, Finn! He looks great standing tall. Do you have a sand/water table? I found that Sean would stand a long time and play at one.

Glad to hear he is nursing nice again and making so much progress. I'm hoping to get sloppy kisses from Ella soon. :)

Thank you for sharing that! Eon seems to be in one of his holding patterns with little progress right now and I needed to be encouraged to see where he'll be in a few months! Finn is so cute and is doing great!

He's growing up so fast, Lisa. I'd cry too if I had to walk around with weights on my ankles. :-(

That is great! Syd is 2 now and we are still working on it. He looks so strong. I can't believe how old he is looking. It seems like yesterday he was born! Wow time flies.
