A couple-few things . . .

~ In honor of this being Down Syndrome Awareness Month (and in honor of the chill the nights have taken on lately), I splurged on one of these gorgeous quilts for Finn. Take a look - they're stunning, and a portion of the proceeds is donated to a Down syndrome organization of the buyer's choice, to boot.

~ Another inspirational video featuring a person with Down syndrome: Teen With Down Syndrome Voted Homecoming King. There are a lot of these sorts of things that make their way around the blogosphere. This one moved me in a way that a lot of others don't Know what I like about it so much? The feeling of acceptance without charity. This is the world I want Finn to live in. Check out the Homecoming Queen's response and tell me if you don't wipe a tear from your eye.

~ Ahhhh, Finn. He's a little under the weather. Not sick, I don't think, but he has a terrible, awful diaper rash and it's making him completely miserable. Can't think of why he's got it, except maybe that I've increased the fruit in his diet to get some fluids into him since he stopped nursing. Any advice on dealing with this diaper rash is welcome!

For the diaper rash you can get cream that is extra high in zinc. I can't remember the name but used this in the hospital for Wysdom and slathered it on. Maybe he's teething? I am going to watch the video now. Thanks

i used raw egg whites kind of painted on the very sore bum of a babe i was caring for. then let it air dry. it really helped her diaper rash.

hope finn feels better soon.

Maalox works really well for a diaper rash caused by acidic poop. You just dab it on with a cotton ball. Hope his bottom feels better soon.

I am diaper rash queen here. I use something called Sensicare. I also like Desitin. It is best to do an air out for as long as you can. And always use some sort of a cream.

Lisa,
I swear by Triple Paste. It's spendy but works every time. I bet you are right about the fruit tho, all that acid.
Also Caldesene (sp?). It's very old school, in a pink canister.
And of course, the old, naked booty whenever possible, but you know that one I'm sure!
