Rediscovering "normal"

Today was a day of complete and total normality. I don't think I even realized it until the end of the day that I had lived a normal day, doing normal things, and it felt wonderful. I took the kids (yep, all 6 of them) to the park. Sue came over because she "needed to hold Finn." Audrey and Matt came over and we all ate pizza. We went to a concert in the park after dinner and the kids ran around dancing and screaming while I sat on a blanket and nursed my baby. I laughed today. Really laughed. More than once. No outsider could have looked at us today and realized that we've been to hell and back over the last couple of weeks, or even that we are currently adjusting to the knowledge that we have a special needs child. Today we were just a normal family with a new baby, doing normal things. And I can't help but appreciate that.

YAY NORMAL! And with any luck there will be more and more days like this and less and less days like the past few weeks have yielded. It sounded like a GREAT day too, not just normal. Good kids, good friends, good music... can't beat that!

I love you Lisa. I love you the kids and reading your blogs. I miss my babies. Almost time for a date?

P.S. I would have commented earlier but I just figured out how to do it. Not very computer savy.

I'm so glad to hear about your "normal" day and your laughter. I'll bet it was music to the kids ears. I'm sure there will still be good days and hard days, but hopefully the good ones will begin to outnumber the difficult ones. :)
