What an honor!

Shortly after Finnian was born, a package came in the mail at our house addressed to me from Amazon.com. I was mystified because I had not ordered anything from Amazon. Inside were several books relating to Down syndrome, and the books were sent to me by Jodi, who I've known through my book club for a couple of years now, and who has recently grown to be a great supporter and dear friend.

Among the books was Road Map to Holland by Jennifer Graf Groneberg . . . I know I've mentioned this book here a number of times. I read it over the course of a few weeks, beginning when Finn was still in the NICU. I read it slowly and savored it, not wanting it to end because it felt like such a lifeline to me. It spoke to me in such a huge way, and in many respects I felt as if she were writing my own experience word for word. I even hunted down Ms. Groneberg's email address and sent her a note telling her how much the book meant to me, and she was gracious enough to email me back the very same day :)

I'm so honored . . . thank you, Jennifer!

I'm so excited that you're not only on Jennifer's blog roll (an honor enough), but she actually mentioned it in the blog itself. Rock Star! :)
