31 for 21

Well, I'm getting my last post of this challenge in by the skin of my teeth - whew! It's been a busy day, being that it's Halloween and I have 6 little gouls to contend with.

I have been so happy to be a part of this 31 for 21 blog challenge - and I must say that I'm very proud of myself for not missing a single day of the challenge . . . I think I even managed to get a few extra posts in during the month ;) It's been a really good feeling to be a part of something that has hopefully impacted people's perceptions about Down syndrome in a positive way. It's funny . . . I know that I am not all that far into this journey (not quite 4 months - but in some ways it feels like it's been a lifetime already . . .), but I feel like I've come a ways from where I was a few months ago, and I feel like I might even have the ability to offer hope and comfort to someone just starting out on this path.

I've met and gotten to know some really great people, parents who inspire me by allowing me to see into their lives.

I wonder what I will be blogging about a year from now. I like to imagine that I will be closer to where Tricia and Karly and Chrystal and Jennifer are now . . . a place where Down syndrome is a part of my family's life but no longer takes center stage.

Thank you, Tricia, for spearheading such a wonderful challenge to raise awareness, and for letting me be a part of it. You're an awesome chick!

And now I leave you with some Halloween pics. By the time I got the camera out, Kevin was already gone with a friend, and Lilah isn't feeling well and wouldn't have any part of putting on her costume, so here are 4 of my little trick-or-treaters:

You are missing a few kiddos in your pictures! IS that Lila and one of the twins as the princesses? At first I thought it was our twins and I thought it was darn funny because mine went as oink and purple princesses this year! :D Great minds think alike!

Melony, nope, not Lilah. Those are the twins in the pic - Annabelle in pink and Daisy in purple :)
