Finn's 6-month checkup

Finn had his 6-month well baby visit yesterday (although he is closer to 7 months now), and it was pretty uneventful, but I thought I'd post about it for posterity.

His weight was at 14 pounds even, so he's actually lost about a half a pound over the last week or two, I'm sure because he's been sick. I was not at all surprised by the weight loss. Even so, he's still in the 50th percentile for weight!! (This, of course, is on the Ds growth chart.) His length was measured at 25+ inches (can't remember exactly), which puts him in the 40th percentile for length/height. However, he was measured at the cardio last week, and they measured him at 26+ inches, so, as usual, I'm not putting a whole lot of stock into the length measurement at this point.

I have not yet started him on solids, and it actually didn't even come up in our conversation. I'm not in any rush to start solids, especially since he is growing just fine on breastmilk alone. Once he's completely over this bug he's got, I'll probably start some cereal.

Everything looks good. No shots. The ped is making referrals for a hearing eval and a vision eval, which I understand is routine at this age for Ds.

So there you go!

Good report Lisa. Finn looks as though he is growing and fuctioning real well. Hope he is feeling better from the RSV.

isn't that the truth with the length measurements? Lauren can be 29" one day and 26.5" the next. I pretty much just stop paying attention when they "measure her length". It's never right!
anyway, enough of my rant. Finn is moving right along, just like his Momma!
