That's what Finn ate tonight - pinto beans.
I've been dabbling in solids with him for a week or two. Mashed banana. Chopped banana. The dreaded rice cereal. Everything ends up spit out. Tonight, however, he was sitting in his usual place of honor - in his Bumbo right smack in the middle of the dining room table, like a centerpiece - as we ate dinner: taquitos, rice and pinto beans. On a whim, I cut a pinto in half and fed it to him. He didn't spit it out. He actually gum-chewed it and swallowed it! So I fed him a few more. I can't wait to see what I find in his diaper tomorrow.

Claire LOVES any and all beans. Maybe he is just one of those babies who will never be into purees and goes straight to table food. Good for you for doing what feels right for your family.
My kids love beans too. Unfortunately the gas is not nice. Way to go Finn.
Now I KNOW he's perfect for Kira. He'd fit right in here in Texas! (Not that I'm trying set your 8-month old up, but dang he's pretty!)
Mmmmm, Mexican! Smart kiddo. Have fun with those diapers, mama.
oh wow!! go finn! i can only imagine the face that dylan would make if i even attempted something like that!!
Kaia used to LOVE any kind of beans....expecially chick peas, which I think are called garbanzo beans in the U.S. They're a great protein source since the baby food meat is less than stellar.

Enjoy, Finn! Its so fun watching them try new foods.
Funny post. My little guy loves refried beans, too! You may be in for quite a surprise tomorrow LOL. I love the name Finnian -- you have a beautiful blog.
