"Y'all - don't miss it. Don't get so caught up in what your sweet baby is doing or not doing. Don't obsess about this step or the next step or the one after that or what is going to happen twenty years down the line. Because one day you'll look at baby pictures and think about how adorable that baby was and how all you can remember is therapy and you can't even remember what her hair smelled like. So, ENJOY your baby. It doesn't matter when they walk or crawl or talk. It matters that they are here and that you love them and that they know it. Just don't miss it."
Lisa, This is Joyce. We have been traveling so we have not been leaving comments but I have been trying to read everynight how things are going with you and Michael.
When I watch Finn in these clips I am so struck by the unwritten message. Of course Finn misses his daddy and how very smart and insightful that he is trying to calm himself and show you by going to the guitar. Such an incredibly smart little guy.
It seems Michael is doing better. So good to hear. I continue to think of all of you with good wishes.

This is my commentary on the mundane drama of my life which currently includes raising six kids, Down syndrome, cancer, and trying to keep my head on straight in the midst of it all.

Christmas was nice. Low key. Being that it was a chemo week (albeit the last
one!) Michael hasn't been feeling great the last couple of days. He was

On July 7, 2008 our sixth child, Finnian, was born at home into loving hands. Shortly after he was born, we learned that he has Down syndrome. This is the ongoing story of how our family is being transformed by this little boy.

Look at him!!! He's goingto follow in Michael's footsteps I think!
I meant to comment on this the other day, but got side-tracked. (I cannot imagine how you accomplish anything with 6 kids!)
Anyway, I'm such a T21 momma. While watching this, all I could think was "Wow, his tone looks so good!"
Our OT recommends guitar lessons and/or piano lessons for our kiddos - so Finn and Kira are set with their musical daddies!
